ABOUT THE HIKE
Lions Head is one of Cape Towns most popular trails, and for good reason. The 360° views from the top are spectacular. This is an easy to moderate trail, but you will still need a decent level of fitness. We will follow the circular route up the mountain, where views of Camps Bay, then the CBD, and finally Table Mountain are revealed one after another. Following our last push up the spine of the Lion, we make it to the top where we will then enjoy a freshly brewed mountain top coffee, while we watch the sun rise over the iconic Table Mountain. Depending on the route chosen the hike will involve climbing ladders, metal staples and chains. Some of which may be avoided. NB We like to start early & we may hike up in the dark. Restrictions: You will need to be fully mobile. Minimum age of 10 years old.
Technical Difficulty refers to the terrain, and how difficult is it to overcome. Our Technical Ratings are based on how comfortable we think the average person, with little to no mountain experience, will feel. We make use of mountain guides, who are specialists in their field. Hiking can be dangerous, therefore you will need to be fully mobile and sober, and will be under the guides supervision at all times.
